Use of AMOPOL reagent

AMOPOL is a reagent that is produced at the Coagulant PCP, is used in the ammonization
technology in the preparation of drinking and household water, as well as in technological processes
in various industries. The use of AMOPOL at potable water treatment plants shows that:

ORGANIC COAGULANTS AND FLOCCULANTS

Organic coagulants and flocculants are widely used in the practice of preparing drinking water, wastewater treatment and sludge dewatering. Organic coagulants are polymers with a high cationic charge, which is necessary to destabilize negatively charged colloidal particles and ensure rapid flocculation.
Organic flocculants are water-soluble macromolecular compounds that, when introduced into dispersed systems, are adsorbed or chemically bonded to the surface of the particles of the dispersed phase and combine the particles into agglomerates (flocs), facilitating their rapid deposition.

The problem of water purification from pathogenic microorganisms

Coagulation is a process by which suspended, colloidal and dissolved substances are destabilized by the addition of a specialized chemical (coagulant). Traditional coagulants, such as ferric hloride, ferric sulfate and aluminum sulfate, etc., quickly hydrolyze when dispersed in water, forming insoluble precipitates and compress the double electric layer of suspended particles. Precipitation is adsorbed on the surface of polluting particles in water, neutralizing their charge, which subsequently allows hem to connect with each other. Flocculation is a process in which particles are destabilized to form heavy agglomerates with a higher deposition rate.
